What's good?

I can't wait until this deployment is over.

I wanted to join the Air force becos i heard they pay for your college and you have good benefits like $1500 a month and what not & you get to travel. Air force person told my class that and i was like Fareal?!...I know a recruiter and he's always tryna recruite me. aha and i heard that if you join after going to college for some years, you'll be rank'd higher and could even become an officer....

Three years this March. I haven't been in long at all, but I only have a year left when I leave Iraq.

How long have you been in the military?

Recruit Training for enlisted Marines is 12 weeks. Out of all the services, it's the most challenging and people drop like flies. Officer Candidates that wish to get their commission in the Marine Corps have a 12 week school they go to, but it's nowhere near as 'in your face.'

The common trend is for someone to enlist, finish school, then aim to get their commission because with an enlisted background, you're respected a lot more. And with all the available opportunities that stem from the enlisted world with bonuses and future job opportunities, a lot of us enlisted Marines don't even see a need to receive commissions.

USMC Force Recon = Navy SEALs > USMC Recon > USMC Infantry > Army Secial Forces > Army Ranger

So if you're enlisted, you have to do camp and if you go after college you don't have to go to bootcamp? ain't navy seals/marines the highest/hardest? i heard some ppl quit camp after 4wks and only like 2wks to go...

It's hard for people that aren't ready for it. I thought the shit was fun, but that's just me. A lot of niggas didn't make it out.

Yea, it is what it is. The Marine Corps got my back now but I can't do this for the rest of my life. So when its over, I'll move on. I can't wait to get back to the states, though.
